Exod 27:1–21, Matt 25:37–26:13, Ps 19:1–14

Old Testament

Exod 27:1–21

1 "You shall make the altar of acacia wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and its height shall be three cubits.

2 You shall make its horns on its four corners; its horns shall be of one piece with it; and you shall overlay it with brass.

3 You shall make its pots to take away its ashes, its shovels, its basins, its flesh hooks, and its fire pans: all its vessels you shall make of brass.

4 You shall make a grating for it of network of brass: and on the net you shall make four bronze rings in its four corners.

5 You shall put it under the ledge around the altar beneath, that the net may reach halfway up the altar.

6 You shall make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with brass.

7 Its poles shall be put into the rings, and the poles shall be on the two sides of the altar, when carrying it.

8 You shall make it with hollow planks. They shall make it as it has been shown you on the mountain.

9 "You shall make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen one hundred cubits long for one side:

10 and its pillars shall be twenty, and their sockets twenty, of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.

11 Likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings one hundred cubits long, and its pillars twenty, and their sockets twenty, of brass; the hooks of the pillars, and their fillets, of silver.

12 For the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits; their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.

13 The breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.

14 The hangings for the one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three.

15 For the other side shall be hangings of fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three.

16 For the gate of the court shall be a screen of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the embroiderer; their pillars four, and their sockets four.

17 All the pillars of the court around shall be filleted with silver; their hooks of silver, and their sockets of brass.

18 The length of the court shall be one hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits, of fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass.

19 All the instruments of the tabernacle in all its service, and all its pins, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass.

20 "You shall command the children of Israel, that they bring to you pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually.

21 In the Tent of Meeting, outside the veil which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall keep it in order from evening to morning before the Lord: it shall be a statute forever throughout their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

New Testament

Matt 25:37–26:13

25:37 "Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink?

25:38 When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you?

25:39 When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'

25:40 "The King will answer them, 'Truly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

25:41 Then he will say also to those on the left hand, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels;

25:42 for I was hungry, and you did not give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink;

25:43 I was a stranger, and you did not take me in; naked, and you did not clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit me.'

25:44 "Then they will also answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not help you?'

25:45 "Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly I tell you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.'

25:46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

26:1 And it happened, when Jesus had finished all these words, that he said to his disciples,

26:2 "You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified."

26:3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.

26:4 They took counsel together that they might take Jesus by deceit, and kill him.

26:5 But they said, "Not during the feast, lest a riot occur among the people."

26:6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

26:7 a woman came to him having an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he sat at the table.

26:8 But when the disciples saw this, they were indignant, saying, "Why this waste?

26:9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor."

26:10 However, knowing this, Jesus said to them, "Why do you trouble the woman? Because she has done a good work for me.

26:11 For you always have the poor with you; but you do not always have me.

26:12 For in pouring this ointment on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.

26:13 Truly I tell you, wherever this Good News is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial of her."

Psalm

Ps 19:1–14

1 The heavens declare the glory of God. The expanse shows his handiwork.

2 Day after day they pour forth speech, and night after night they display knowledge.

3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

4 Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun,

5 which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a strong man rejoicing to run his course.

6 His going forth is from the end of the heavens, his circuit to its ends; There is nothing hidden from its heat.

7 The Lord's Law is perfect, restoring the soul. The Lord's testimony is sure, making wise the simple.

8 The Lord's precepts are right, rejoicing the heart. The Lord's commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever. The Lord's ordinances are true, and righteous altogether.

10 More to be desired are they than gold, yes, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the extract of the honeycomb.

11 Moreover by them is your servant warned. In keeping them there is great reward.

12 Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.

13 Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins. Let them not have dominion over me. Then I will be upright. I will be blameless and innocent of great transgression.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Lord, my rock, and my redeemer.
