Prayers from Scripture

Молиться за всех человеков, за царей1 Tim 2:1–4

1 Tim 2:1–4

1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men:

2 for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;

4 who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.

7 Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you shall have peace.'

Боже, даруй царю Твой судPs 72

О справедливом правителе.

Ps 72

1 God, give the king your justice; your righteousness to the royal son.

2 He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice.

3 The mountains shall bring prosperity to the people. The hills bring the fruit of righteousness.

4 He will judge the poor of the people. He will save the children of the needy, and will break the oppressor in pieces.

5 They shall fear you while the sun endures; and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.

6 He will come down like rain on the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.

7 In his days, the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.

8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, from the River to the ends of the earth.

9 Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him. His enemies shall lick the dust.

10 The kings of Tarshish and of the islands will bring tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

11 Yes, all kings shall fall down before him. All nations shall serve him.

12 For he will deliver the needy when he cries; the poor, who has no helper.

13 He will have pity on the poor and needy. He will save the souls of the needy.

14 He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence. Their blood will be precious in his sight.

15 They shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba. Men shall pray for him continually. They shall bless him all day long.

16 There shall be abundance of grain throughout the land. Its fruit sways like Lebanon. Let it flourish, thriving like the grass of the field.

17 His name endures forever. His name continues as long as the sun. Men shall be blessed by him. All nations will call him blessed.

18 Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.

19 Blessed be his glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with his glory! Amen and amen.

20 This ends the prayers by David, the son of Jesse.

Ps 122

1 I was glad when they said to me, "Let's go to the Lord's house!"

2 Our feet are standing within your gates, Jerusalem;

3 Jerusalem, that is built as a city that is compact together;

4 where the tribes go up, even the tribes of Yah, according to an ordinance for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the Lord.

5 For there are set thrones for judgment, the thrones of David's house.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Those who love you will prosper.

7 Peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces.

8 For my brothers' and companions' sakes, I will now say, "Peace be within you."

9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good.

Молитва Даниила о народеDan 9:4–19

Покаяние за себя и за народ.

Dan 9:4–19

4 I prayed to the Lord my God, and made this confession, "O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant and loving kindness with those who love him and keep his commandments.

5 We have sinned, and have done what is wrong and wicked, and have rebelled, even turning aside from your commandments and from your ordinances.

6 Neither have we listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

7 Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but to us open shame, as at this day, to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, who are near, and who are far off, through all the countries where you have driven them, because of their unfaithful deeds that they have committed against you.

8 Lord, to us belongs open shame, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against you.

9 To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him.

10 And have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.

11 Yes, all Israel has transgressed your law, and turned away, refusing to obey your voice. Therefore has the curse been poured out on us, and the oath that is written in the Law of Moses the servant of God, for we have sinned against you.

12 He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us, and against our rulers who ruled us, by bringing on us a great calamity; for under the whole heaven such has not been done as has been done on Jerusalem.

13 As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this calamity has come on us. Yet have we not tried to gain the favor of the Lord our God, that we should turn from our iniquities, and have discernment in your truth.

14 Therefore has the Lord watched over the calamity, and brought it on us, for the Lord our God is just in all he has done, and we have not obeyed his voice.

15 "And now, Lord our God, who has brought your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and have made a name for yourself, even to this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.

16 Lord, according to all your righteousness, let your anger and please let your wrath be turned away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people have become a reproach to all who are around us.

17 Now therefore, our God, listen to the prayer of your servant, and to his petitions, and cause your face to shine on your sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake.

18 My God, turn your ear, and hear; open your eyes, and see our desolation, and the city which is called by your name. For we do not present our petitions before you for our righteousness, but for your great mercy.

19 Lord, hear! Lord, forgive! Lord, listen and take action! Do not delay, for your own sake, my God, because your city and your people are called by your name."

Услышит тебя Господь в день скорбиPs 20

О воинах и власти.

Ps 20

1 May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble. May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high,

2 send you help from the sanctuary, grant you support from Zion,

3 remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah.

4 May He grant you your heart's desire, and fulfill all your counsel.

5 We will triumph in your salvation. In the name of our God, we will set up our banners. May the Lord grant all your requests.

6 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed. He will answer him from his holy heaven, with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust the name of the Lord our God.

8 They are bowed down and fallen, but we rise up, and stand upright.

9 Save, Lord! Let the King answer us when we call!
